CCube’s award-winning solution lies at the forefront of digital healthcare, delivering electronic health records to clinicians and hospital administrators in the format they require, at the point of need. The CCube software suite currently holds and manages 450 million documents, containing over 52 billion pages for over 32M patients across 30 NHS organisations in the UK. The software suite enables the NHS to transition to a paper-free care model by minimising the overall reliance on paper records and reducing the administrative burden of hospital staff, while saving costs.

MetaBroadcast is the market leader in providing metadata services to the entertainment service industry in the UK with blue-chip customers like BBC, Amazon, BT TV and BT Sport.

Its technology allows content providers to ingest different types of metadata, harmonise, enrich and output for consumption. Over the last 10 years, MetaBroadcast has developed integrations with the leading global content owners and developed the intellectual property to handle millions of different types of metadata.

What we did

We completed the acquisition within 20 calendar days of signing the NDA.

We focused on leveraging the salesforce of our portfolio companies to unlock revenue synergies based on our experience of operators increasingly moving to content (on top of mobile, landline and broadband) to enhance their revenue streams.

We also enhanced our product offering and upsold additional services – effectively doubling revenue within two years of the acquisition.

Telsis is a leading provider of high performance and innovative voice, data and messaging solutions to the world’s leading mobile network operators having sold over £250M worth of products and services to 90 operators in 45 countries. Telsis at the time of acquisition had presence in UK, Germany and Spain.

Telsis is a pioneer in the telecoms industry and originally built and sold telephony switches to the major network operators globally. With the move to IP-based telephony, Telsis now focuses on delivering intelligent software platforms, anti-fraud solutions, hosted telephony and enterprise communication solutions to network operators to help them drive revenue growth.

What we did

We completed the acquisition in less than four weeks from meeting management.

We immediately simplified the group structure from 16 entities in 8 countries to 4 entities in 2 countries.

We pivoted the group from selling legacy core network solutions to cloud based contact centres with high-quality recurring revenue and scaled the business outside of Europe to parts of Africa and Latin America by introducing a robust lead generation/marketing programme and implementing a rigorous sales process.

The business was sold to Gamma Holdings, an AIM listed leading telecommunications provider in November 2019.

Telency is a hosted telephony provider to SMEs in the UK. Sold exclusively through resellers, Telency offers a cost-effective and easy-to-use integrated VoIP telephony.

What we did

Our investment thesis rested on offering a simplified telephony product that is fit-for-purpose for SMEs and building a resilient SaaS revenue model. We capitalised on market growth in the unified communication space as an increasing number of SMEs move from traditional telephony to a cloud-based solution.

During our ownership, we helped enhance the product offerring including call recording, advanced ACD, basic contact center functionality and integrations into over 100+ other applications. We also helped the business build a robust sale pipeline and create a network with over two dozen channel partners to sell into the SMEs market.

Dragons of Walton Street (“Dragons”) is an established international British brand based in Knightsbridge (London) and a market leader in high quality, bespoke interior design for exquisite children’s rooms. Dragons has designed and hand-painted children’s furniture since 1979 and has supplied to customers in 72 countries including royal families and international celebrities. Dragons was the only company to hold licenses to hand-paint Beatrix Potter, Flower Fairies and Paddington Bear on children’s furniture.

What we did

We completed the acquisition through a management buy-out (MBO) in less than three weeks from our initial meeting with management and the existing shareholders.

We invested in revamping Dragons’ eCommerce platform and overhauling the existing IT infrastructure (project management, CRM accounting and lead generation) to help the business scale much more efficiently.

We also helped the business to standardise products, optimise prices across different markets and customer segments, implement rigorous sales processes, drive higher margin interior design services and grow its international footprint in Qatar, UAE and Russia.

The business was sold to a trade buyer in September 2018.
